ELECTRIC AUGER???

As someone previously said, it depends on how many holes you want to drill....if you're only using it for a few, the electric is sweet. But if you want to drill more than ten (and it depends on how cold it is outside, of course), you'll want to 1) stick with the gas, or 2) bring along an extra battery and cables, which I find quite annoying myself.

I bought the Strikemaster Electric last year. I had no problem getting 20 plus holes out of one battery. Early ice you can get more...late thick ice, less, but then if the ice is that thick most of us are driving on it and an extra battery or two is not much of a problem. The things I like about it best are, it works when I turn it on, no pulling on a cord, adjusting a choke, it just works. Also I own and SUV not a pickup and when I drive to my favorite fishing holes, I do not have to smell gas. If you have a bigger budget then the Ice-Gator makes the discussion even more interesting as it can be very competitive to gas.
