Birds of a (different) feather...

Just returned from the Pacific Northwest and thought I'd share a few of the birds we saw out there that are just slightly different from our MN varieties.

Chestnut backed Chickadee

Dark-eyed Junco (I've only seen the slate colored version here in MN)

Stellar's Jay

Anna's Hummingbird (the first is an immature male I believe, the second a femamle)

Western Towee

and this little guy was really shy - he would show up once or twice a day briefly and it took almost 2 weeks for us to figure out who he was! I think it is a leucisitic/piebald junco.

Wow! Great to see some variations from those found in our neck of the woods. The chickadee is really neat!

Nice photos. The Towhee is now called Spotted Towhee. We get them here in MN occasionally. I have seen 3 of them in the past 20 years.

Thanks guys, it was fun to see something just a bit different, and the chickadees were every bit as cute as ours!
