I'm staying at Island Royale (Golf Shores) for the month of March. I understand there is a fresh water lake named "Shelby" near by. The lake is approximately 800+ acres. I'm looking for some info regarding this lake (ponds) or another lake in the area. I'm wondering about shore fishing and/or boat rental. What tackle did you bring/use?

Also, have any of you fisherpeople ever fished the gulf from "Golf Shores"? Do you know if there is shore fishing or a pier near? What tackle did you bring/use?
