basslkjohn
Just changed out the starter motor on my sportfish I.O. After hanging up side down for an hour I got the new starter in and fired up the boat...runs fine. Then, I got to reading some internet comments on starters and several threads stated that the mounting bolts should not be reused. I'm not real excited about sticking my face into the engine block while I reach under the motor to replace the starter mounting bolts (they are vertical rather than horizontal and threaded up from the bottom). So, do I really need to buy new replacement bolts???
boatfixer
Whenever possible I have used new ones but to be honest I've reused them and never had a problem.
