Staining concrete floor

Recommended Posts

Are you looking to go one color or do you what some type of faux finish.

I have most all the stuff to stain concrete and have done some driveways and some plain concrete brick.

Alot of staining is done when the concrete is still in its green stage but it can be done when it exsisting concrete needs to be very clean and free of any grease.

How long has the concrete been dry

I'm not sure honestly. I'm open to either a solid color or faux finish. Any suggestions? It's new concrete (many cured for about 2 weeks at this point. Still waiting for garage to be finished.

Solid would be cheaper and easier

Typically you would just add the powdered color to the mud before you poured it then finished it and then sealed it but it still can be stained

What color you thinking of?

What size is the floor is it?

You will have to acid stain/ etch it now when you color the mud it is all the way thru it whae you stain it it is only in about 1/2 inch or so. So if it chips or pops you will see where it was cause of the white concrete. Hope thats kinda understandable

after you stain it then you will have to seal it with a good quaity concrete sealer

do you have the stick frame up yet? you may want to wait for that to be done also.

I'd epoxy it. I love that stuff.

I had something simalar done to the bottom of my boat its for concrete and I love the stuff also and it is great on the concret. This is the stuff I would go with before stain but it may be a bit more expensive.full-15313-11599-005.jpg
