snapweights, boards, and spinners.

Recommended Posts

Anyone have experience doing this? I'll take any pointers I can get as I am going to start experimenting with the system. Is there a rule of thumb Reguarding how for in front of the spinner u put the snap? I guess depth control will be a trial and error deal?

I usually run the BPS fish weights, or the RedNeck fish weights, and make my snells 6-8 foot long. If it's bumpy out, I use snap weights, which cuts down on the vertical swim with the wave surges. If I use snap weights, I run them ten to twenty feet in front of the presentation.

At 1.5 mph, a 3 oz weight will go down half the lead. At 60 feet back, it will run approximately 30 foot deep, give or take a foot. A 2 oz weight will go down 30% of the lead at the same speed, and a 1 oz will go down 20% of the lead.
