Mid Season Maintenance Reminder

Recommended Posts

Just a reminder to look over those rods, reels, and line. My boat lost a nice fish over the weekend because of worn line. AAARGGGG! Fish skirted the net, went for a run and gone! So give it all the once over, lube 'em up, cut some line, sharpen them hooks, polish them blades, and don't forget to check those trailer bearings. Good fishing to all!

I had a trailer bearing go out between Longville and Wabedo. Luckily I was able to limp to the access, fish and them leave it at the marine place on 87 up there for the night..

If your like me and use lube instead of grease, my reels get a little dry this time of year and I relube.. Seems to work as my favorite reel is an 8 year old Calcutta that still runs like a dream. (knock on wood, hail to the muskie gods..)

hooks can never be too sharp! And keep an eye on those Flourcarbon Leaders for nicks..
