bhs91
I have a 70 yamaha 2stroke and the ground wire on the motor came loose and is now hanging. Motor runs fine but where should I reconnect it?Thanks, Bhs91
bhs91
The wire is on the outside of the motor located between the motor and the motor mount. Maybe it is not a ground wire but I am still curious as to what to do with it.Thanks,BHS
marine_man
Thanks for the clarification. That's the connection between the two moving parts to the sacrificial anode, which is utilized in salt water environments. There should be a tapped hole in the vicinity of the cable that you should be able to reconnect it to. If it's still connected at the motor, look at the piece of aluminum looking material on the bottom of the motor mount, outside the boat and see if it's connected there.marine_man
