Fished perch thurs and Fri on the east side off Hunters Point. Fished 30 ft 0f water over a silt bottom, gradual slope from hard bottom from rock to silt, ended up with 50 perch from 10" to 12", early morning run than from 10:30 to 2:00 a very strong run and a little run towards evening. Had a camera down and could see the perch move in all very nice a foot off the bottom seemed to trigger the biggest perch a bigger fat head worked best and we fished it with a plain number four colored hook in purple glow and pink glow, octopus circle hook by gamagatshu, small sinker a foot from hook. The key was the perch would spit up small one inch perch which must of been relating to this silt bottom, thus the big perch were feeding on them, this was not a mud bottom you could drop a weight and it would only sink a couple inches the key is the silt or soft sand areas held their preferred food which on our trip was the small one inch perch. had to bring them up slow or all the air bladders popped. We only thru back two fish in two days as they were all nice Jumbos. Good luck Date change the report is from 2-12-04 to 2-13-04 sorry
