Boat Rubbing Spots

Recommended Posts

Hey all, loving my all originall 1984 boat/motor/trailer set up so far. I have been out a few times now and have noticed some loss of paint or wear spots like where the trialer guides are, steering cable in back, and in some spots on top of boat frame ledge area.

1. is this a concern, the shiny aluminum is coming through, does it need to be repainted, sealed, or anything?

2. was is the purpose of washing/waxing boats other than making them nice looking and clean. Does it help seal? longer paint life? is it something i need to do?

Pretty much as quoted above. Makes it look nice and easier to clean. The fishing well differently better in a clean waxed boat. The fish love it. grin
