There's gotta be a better way... Trolling motor plug wiring.

I have a 24v receptacle in the bow and my new Terrova. (Thanks Dave!) The power cord on the Terrova has two little loop connectors. Typically, you cut these off and wire up a plug. BUT... There's gotta be a better way. Meaning not as ugly as a big wad of electrical tape around two crimp on connectors or solder joints.

Any ideas?

Butt splices and heat shrink are the way to go.

There is also a product called Liquid tape that you brush on over the connections and let dry which would seem to work well if the wires are going to remain stationary but when I used it on trailer wiring it would wear off and I would have to re-apply it.

Doesn't the plug that fits into the receptacle have the cable clamps inside the plug? Thats the way mine was- I then put that black plastic cover that looks like a snake over the cords- it is split down the middle- know what I mean? It looks very neat and tidy- it would also cover up whatever connection you make to the plug.
