Xtra brake parts

I had a piston stick on my front caliper ( 2002 F250 7.3 )I bought a new caliper that was not loaded, it came with two extra black rubber pieces. They are the ones that go over the piston, are these extra or are they used for something that I am missing?

It also came with two metal pieces that look like they keep the brake pads spread out, pins fit into holes in the brake pad..... how and the heck do you put those on?

can you post a pick of the rubber pieces?

Are they the ones at the top of this pic?

The metal pieces are ushaped with a nub in the middle. When they are installed on the brake pads the nubs will point at each other.

Yes, It is the rubber pieces at the top. And the "u" shaped metal pieces.

The calipers already had the rubber pieces but they sent 2 extra.

the rubber pieces are the parts that go over the caliper slide pins that hold the caliper to the caliper bracket. If these pieces are already on the new one than they are extra and not needed.

I am picking up the caliper for the other side and the guys said they would show me how to put those clips on.
