Ear Falls area report

Went up Monday with three others for a quick fishing tour of the Ear Falls area. Were on the water by noon at Manitou Falls and quickly used up 4 or 5 dozen minnows and called it an afternoon. Spent the night at Pakwash Provincial Park and had a great fish supper. Thank you to the people from Wisconsin who actually deep fried our catch for us. We fished for a couple of hours on Pakwash Lake and found fish easily enough. Fishing, we were told, was very good right in front of the park most of the day in 3 to 8 feet. We did not find any that evening there but went a little way down the lake and were soon into them. We boated 20 or so in a couple of hours in 5-12 feet.

Fished Lac Seul off Golden Pine Landing in the Wenasaga River area and did very poorly on Tuesday morning. Big cold front had moved in. You could tell it had been hot by the number of boats in the area.

We went down to Cliff Lake to try for lake trout and talked to the owner of the landing there who put us on a couple of spots. We wound up missing two and catching 3 for a three hour trip on the lake. Overall a great experience and I would be happy to recommend the area to anyone .
