Lake of the Woods - Sioux Narrows Fishing Reports

Recommended Posts

Heading up for a week of fishing and the cabin is located in the Sioux Narrows areas. Wondering if anyone has recent reports from the area? Not looking for anyones spots, maybe just general depth and structure that has been producing for some starting points. Thanks in advance.

I will be in the Sioux Narrows area June 11-18th. We mostly fish walleye, but are going to try lake trout this year. Any tips on tackle or location for trout?

We also may try Dogtooth lake and would appreciate any advise for big eyes.

Will be up there June 11-18 also. Good luck to you guys. Sounds like Sioux narrows is pretty big area. I don't know exactly where we are staying, one of the other guys lined up the cabin.

I wouldn't call it big haha, but there are a few resorts around. I'll be at Whitebirch Lodge.

As far as Lake Trout, a couple years ago we went for them one day and got a few in the Whitefish Bay area. They were in about 80ft of water with down riggers, spoons and some sucker as bait.

Fishing was a little slower than we are used to. The walleyes were scattered across all depths from 2-45 fow. Best day was about 150 walleyes for 3 guys, but there were a lot of small ones. It was hard to put a pattern together because the fish were never caught in the same place twice. Biggest eye was 27 inches with a few others in the mid 20's.

We don't use any live bait, so maybe we could have done better with bait. We also caught some perch, bass, and pike. Did pretty good on lakers for our first attempt.

Any other reports?
