You just never know when you going to run into a new bird. Today I saw my first mockingbird.

Yup, near Brimson. I am guessing they are not too common around here? Online sources sure have a variety of ranges for them.

Saw my first on our trip to Louisiana this April. Didn't know they could be found this far north!

They are not common at all this far north, Jason, but yours isn't the first seen in northern MN. For some reason they like to wander. I wouldn't mind one wandering and setting up in my back yard. Got a catbird nesting here, and a brown thrasher nesting within my hearing, so might as well make it the grand slam and have a mocker, too.
