Bottem Bouncer

Has anyone ever had luck with a bottem bouncer rigged with a snell and a floating minnow while trolling? Want to try it but I'm wondering about it. Thanks for any tips/replies.

I use bottom bouncers a lot but usually with a spinner and a minnow and they are effective that way. At times, I have tied a rapalla or similar stick bait on and have had some success with that. I've done it mostly in the St. Louis River, which is dark water.

I have done this for several years. I usually fish the floating rapala with a 4 foot snell. I use it mostly early season after the spawn around deep weeds from the year before. Its a good way to target the big females after they move out of the shallows.

Bottom bouncers are the only way I fish live bait during warm water months, unless sever cold fronts call for otherwise. These things used anywhere with about a 4 foot harness and crawler and hatchet blade will catch them anywhere anytime if they are around. Be patient and give them a chance. Eventually it will be your confidence set up.

I switched years ago to the slip bouncer rather than the Lindy rig. It sounds interesting to use a Rapala with it. What size bouncer do you use for trolling stickbaits?
