Northland Live Forage ?'s

I purchased some of these Live Forage minnows from Northland tackle and they were quick to take my money but have yet to respond to an email about how to tie into these lures. I've never seen these "R" shape split rings (i guess thats what there called?)....the point where the line attaches to the lure. It appears that if this is so, there is the potential you could lose your lure. Why don't they use the traditinal style split rings? And since Northland won't respond, could someone who has used these please help me out? and could one replace the "R" rings with split rings?

Those 'R' split rings are basically quick snaps. Northland has them on the live forage spoons as well as other lures. I have caught plenty of nice sized fish ice fishing and open water, never had the quick snap fail. I use similar quick snaps on some of my open water rigs, as they aren't as bulky as other snaps.

If your not happy with the quick attach snap just put a split ring on it instead. Then tie direct to the ring or use a snap you like better.

I love those northland quick snaps. I have caught few fish on them and they have not failed me yet.
