LCX 37C problem?

kdawg

Question

Hey, I have a LCX 37C. When I have it in trail mode, it won't lay down a accurate trail when I'm going slow (less than 2mph). It has a pink line that follows my boat, but straightens itself out while I'm moving. It won't lay down a turn until I make a very sharp turn. I have trail smoothing enabled, and I've also called Lowrance. They told me to update to the newest software, which I did and have verified that it's loaded correctly. I have no idea what to do next. I've been on the phone with Lowrance a few times and have found them to be less than helpful. I'm a bit bummed that I have a $1600.00 unit that only gets used spring/fall for the last 3 years and now it's not working as it should. Thanks for any recommendations.

Have you tried disabling trail smoothing? Thats what it sounds like to me.

Trail smoothing removes the imperfections in a trail and straightens it out, exactly what you are experiencing. I always disable it for this very reason.

Ya know, that makes sense to me, BUT, the guy at Lowrance told me to make sure it WAS enabled. That will be my last thing to try, hopefully it works this coming week. Thanks for the input.
