leak in lawn sprinkler main line

BOX CAR

Recommended Posts

I have a pool the line runs along the pool and crushed rocks water leaks in the skimmer, not alot but brings in sand in skimmer.Ive dug 3 holes 1 at the skimmer and rest down the edge of concrete, dry and its very hard to dig in rocks. Any ideas I shut off water stops leaking. It takes awhile for leak to start when I turn water back on. There has to be a easy trick for this.

Thanks BAT

Generally you dig where the water is gushing out or pooling.

More than likely not all the water was blown out of the line and it froze in a low lying spot where it all settled. There is no secret to finding the leak. You could rent a compresor and blow it out until you hear the hissing sound to narrow it down. Other than that, you normally look for soft ground or "springs" and dig in that area.

I would look up hill from the skimmer to start.

Just gotta find where water is leaking and dig dig dig. Bout all you can do. After is been running a while try to narrow down where its leaking. Take something that is hard like a piece of rebar. Start poking it in the ground. If its near the leak and its been running for a while you should be able to easily push it in the ground.
