I just picked up a cabelas pro sport 12 2 bank onboard charger and a pair of group 27 cabelas AGM batteries. I'm finding just a bit of conflicting information on setting the charging profile on the charger.
The batteries state: Float rate of 13.5 - 13.8, charge rate of 14.1 - 14.4.
Batteries say specificlly not to charge at a higer than 14.4 rate.
The charger manual says specifically that AGM batteries are not GEL batteries, however when looking at the charging profile voltages, it appears as though the GEL setting is the closest to what the batteries are asking for.
Charger states: Standard flooded or AGM batteries: Float rate 13.4, charge rate 14.6. (float rate appears to low, and charge rate too high)
Charger States: GEL: Float rate 13.8, charge rate 14.1 (both within batteries specs, however not GEL battery)
Charger states: AGM High performance: Float 13.6, charge 14.7. (Charge rate seems too high)
So should I go with the GEL setting? It seems the charge and float settings line up the best.

We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha
motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor, wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will
want for this boat? Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke
Mariner motor) I will appreciate any help with these questions.
I went ahead and watched some of the MLF coverage. Wheeler didn’t make the cut but the bigger story was the Poche/Avera fallout.
Kinda funny listening to both sides of the story and putting together the scenario, reading between the lines.
