fishtrap3
I looked in past posts for info on this smoker, didn't see anything but could have missed it. My father is wanting to buy a smoker, I know nothing about them. He doesn't want anything cheaply built. Like spot welds that don't hold and such. He wanted to buy the 100 series when we where there, I told him to wait until I ask the experts!!This would get used a lot and would keep him busy doing something, but needs to be fairly easy to use and set up..Thanks for the help, and he is not afraid to spend a little more for something that is going to last! KEN W
Wow.....$1200 for a smoker.Mine cost $150Do you make a lot of venison sausage? If you do.....stick with an electric smoker. With propane you can't get the temp low enough.Sausage has to be made at around 160-175 degrees. If higher....all the fat renders out and the sausage will be dry and crumbly.I am on my 3rd Masterbuilt/Cajun Injector electric.I make a lot of stuff in them and basically wore them out. Those 2 are made by the same company.I stayed away from from the Bradley....I can get all kinds of wood instead of always buying their pucks.I now have 1 of the newest Cajun Injectors. It has 4 1/2 racks.Plus 1 for jerkey and 1 that has rib racks on 1 side and sausage hooks on the other side. They are very effecien't.Only use 2-3 ounces of wood at a time.Very well insulated.I made some sausage last Nov. and it snowed.2-3 inches of snow on it and it didn't melt. KEN W
Mine doesn't have the window.....you have to keep that clean every time you use it as it will get grimy. There a many versions of Masterbuilt/Cajun Injector smokers.I would guess SC ordered a bunch of them and that particular one you can't get anywhere else.Haven't seen the one at S-Club.Mine came from Scheels and does have the temp prob,7 racks.....4 regular ones,2 jerky racks and a Rib rack/sausage hanger rack.Works great at a reasonable price.
