Nephew in a hot deal for new short shaft manual start 4-stroke Yamaha 8HP outboard for his 14' aluminum boat. He says he hears lots of good things about this model. I know a little about the various 9.9's etc. but nothing about this motor. Any comments. That baby sells for

TWO GRAND for a stinkin' little 8HP motor!! Gives us old dudes the shakes! LOL

I don't think it T-8....something like BCMP or something like that. Standard short shaft two cylinder 4-stroke manual start carburated engine from what I can determine from the kid. I know Yamaha has good rep. just don't know this motor. I'm sure it will be fine for running around the lakes in his little 14' Lund.
