Twin Ports Walleye Tourney

Recommended Posts

To add to that it gets you into a community of some nice company, and great fishermen! I just joined and can tell you it is nice to talk fishing with some of the areas best walleye chasers. I also enjoy the special visits from others. This last Tuesday we had John Swanstrom at the meeting talking about his professional tournament experience. It was interesting. This next week sounds like we are going to have a MN DNR rep at a special meeting! All this plus more! We need some more boats for the tourney guys! join up and be part of something cool! Like I said great fishermen, but also great conservationist type people!!!

Ya the best walleye guys in this area are members and we always invite more to join even if they dont like fishing contests/tourneys. We are all about fun and learning and not intimidating at all.

We will be doing some fun walleye fishing get togethers, helping out with community events like the Challenge Centers Take A Kid Fishing event on Fish Lake as well as taking some of our area Veterans out fishing.

We also try to have speakers of some sort at our meetings. Guys like Mr. Swanstrom, DNR, Fisheries Biologists, history experts and some of our members will be doing some seminars in the future. We all can learn something from each other even if its just 1 small thing.

If you would like more info please e-mail me or go to www.twinportswalleye.com and check us out there.

Hope to see some more of you at our meetings and fishing with us.

Question for ya, Steve. What does the $20 membership fee for the TPWA get used for?

I went to my first meeting recently and I am definitely happy that I joined. They seem to be pretty transparent about what they spend the money on. It seemed as if most if not all of the spending is voted on by members during the meetings.

Yes we do want to be as "transparent" as possible. We arent in it to make money but rather have a Association that walleye anglers can be a part of and have a good time and learn something. Our board votes on everything.

Part of our mission is to help out the community and other organizations that can use our help.

One of the 1st things I want to do is organize a clean up of some areas on the St. Louis River.

Looks like we need 10 more boats or so. If your on the fence on this event now is the time to decide and get your money in before its too late. We just went through our prize list and its quite impressive. This is going to be a great relaxed and fun event folks. I hope to see some of you there.

Down to 7 or 8 spots left now guys and gals. If your on the fence you better jump off and sign up quick. wink

Hope to see you on the St. Louis River. From talking with the DNR at our meeting they had one of the best, if not the best, electroshock results they have had in a long long time. Should be a good summer on the Louis.

A HUGE Thank you goes out to all of this years participants and all of our sponsors! This Tournament was a huge event and we were 1 boat shy of filling I believe.

Everything ran smoothly and there was no shortage of prizes for everyone.

For the final results and a list of our great sponsors please go to www.twinportswalleye.com

See everyone next year.
