Rod selection

I know this question is overdone, but I've looked back through the posts and I'm at an impass.

I have a 6'6" ML St. Croix, and I've been invited to go Trout fishing in May down by Lacrosse. Will this rod be too much or will I be able to get away with it?

If my current setup won't work, should I go L, or UL?

perfect choice.. i would line up one of your spools with 4-6# flouro.. the extra rod length will give you distance and accuracy.. and a little backbone with a ML over a UL is always nice especially if you catch a nice sized trout in faster water without sacrificing too much sensitivity that the UL would have

For me, it's more for working the lure and the feel of it. For the smaller lures I use typically 1/16 or 1/12 oz., the L power is fine for that. When I step up in weights of 1/8 or 1/4 oz lures, I much rather prefer a ML power for that.
