Black line with text shows up on Sony Wega screen

I have been getting like a black line(box) with random text inside it on some of my channels not all. Seems like certain ones that my daughter watches all the time.

(vh1-mtv). It just pops up and you have to switch channels to get rid of it but it does come back..Its kind of a random thing and annoying...doesnt happen on my other tv's.

anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it? thanks

Is this a newer LCD or the older tube tv. Check if there is a software update for your TV if it is new enough. Could it be something with Closed Captioning being turned on?

Just tell her not to watch MTV, it is a garbage channel. Used to be music and videos, now it is Jersey Shore and teenage mom shows.

yep you were right..turned off closed caption and seems to be working..

you must have a teenage girl too as that is what these shows seem to be targeting

now me. i like swamp people, axeman and river monsters..kinda cheesy but after a long day i like the entertainment factor..so maybe i am no better than her.
