UNIT
Let me rephrase this. I have some cosmetic damage on the freeboard section of my boat which consist of some dents which are not going to affect the performance of the boat but do not look all that great. Would it be possible to have someone perform paintless dent repair on those sections without damaging the boats aluminum? Anyone know?I may have to call around to find out. Thanks for your help.UNIT
Valv
Paintless dent repair is for small spots, like hail damage or similar. If you have large dents, there's not much they can do with this system. It consist of rubbing the metal with some tools until the dent is pushed back out. Also you have to understand the position of the dent might not be very easy to get, many boats have foams, other meaterials, and many ribs/crossmembers under the decks/floors.Finally, I think aluminum, being a very soft metal, does "stretch out" a little more than steel, consequently you cannot "shrink it back" to how it was before. These are my thoughts, of course, and I am no body man at all, actually I increase their job security....I am sure somebody will chime in soon to help on this. jac714
There is an outfit at the sports show that specializes in boat hull repairs. I don't remember the name but they were near the entrance on the end with the boats.
