clear lake

Hey guys I'm just wandering if there open water on clear? Any tips on muskie fishing? I got the itch to go badly thanks!!

I was in that area last weekend (Mason City), although not actually on Clear Lake.

The ponds there still have ice on them, except at the very edges. I heard Clear Lake itself is still mostly ice-covered, although no longer safe for walking.

I heard there was open water at the grade

There is open water at the Ventura Grade on the west end of Clear Lake. Also the east end of the lake as well. 50's and rain in the forecast I would bet it would be all open within the next 5-7 days.

Just wondering, where is a good public access on Clear? Was down last year and used the access on the east side I think. It was kinda in what seemed to be a park area. Nice access but the parking situation was pretty crowded. I ended up having to park on the street about 2 blocks away. Is there any other access that has more parking space? Thanks.

Clear Lake opened up completely this past week.

In my limited experience launching on Clear Lake, the State Park access was the best spot.
