Red-wing blackbirds are singing

Monday night we saw red-winged blackbirds & robins. Tuesday morning lots of grackles & wedges of Canada geese were hauling freight northwards. Crows are calling and setting up for nesting. This morning there were seagulls and turkey vultures flying around. A friend saw some fresh pocket gopher mounds yesterday along the edge of the road. Bugtussle is SW of Owatonna.

On the way to and back from Sioux Falls today, I counted 5 northern harriers. I saw plenty of other hawks too, more than likely red-tails. I also saw 1 herring gull in S.F. I'm jealous. The Sioux Falls area is 99.9% snow free. It looks like spring there and winter here. frown
