North Shore fishing?

We are thinking of driving up the north shore next week. Never been up there. Any thoughts on the area or fishing opportunities up that way. I really don't know anything at all-never been to Duluth or north. Charter fish the lake? Find a trout fishing stream along the way. Farther nort better? Appreciate thoughts of those who have actually been there and fished the area.
