Why One & Done?

I have kinda had 2 good days so far, 2 weeks ago sat & today. Nice perch and 14 inch bass 2 weeks ago and 2 nice 9 inch crappie this am. My question is when i get these nice "hard" bites seems like it only lasts 5 minutes then all gone. Do fish constantly move this much? Am I just catching stragglers? Think I am seeing more fish on my finder but they just dont bite after i catch 2. Have tried changing lures & bait. Any ideas.....im all for thoughts.....thx again all.

That happens quite often. You catch the aggressive, hungry ones and the rest just like to look!

Try moving to a different hole a few feet away from where you caught the first two and see what happens. Some days I drill 30 to 50 holes and have to move constantly to get the pan fish to bite, only catching 1 or 2 fish in a hole. Just keep moving from hole to hole, check for suspended fish with your electronics, catch a couple and move again if they won't bite.

thx cliff, was wondering about 1 fish per hole ave this am & decided to quit instead of getting stuck on lake with snow, catchin the aggressive ones with more in the hole but just "lookers" seems to be the right story today......

clear the snow off and pour a little water on the ice and put the transducer in the water and it will see right through the ice.

Robert,

That is a great way to search for fish if the ice is clear and not to thick. It does not work well if there is a lot of thick ice like we have up here this time of the season. 24" to 30" right now and very milky!
