Furnaces for wheelhouse???

I have an Empire direct vent wall heater in my wheelhouse. I am thinking of installing a small furnace with blower as a secondary heat source. Anyone have these?? I know Atwood and Suburban both make them, but not sure which is better.

They sell a blower kit for your furnace. It runs of 110 though. Come up with one that runs on 12volt and you would sell hundreds of them. I like my empire because I can leave the heat on without power, the drawback is a cold floor.

The wheeled house has a 15K BTU DV Empire that's 10 years old. It works fine but it was installed a little to high from the floor. Put a fan above it which works great for blowing down the heat.

The camper has a 30K BTU DV Suburban and although it makes great heat you have to run a generator to keep the blower going. I learned the hard way how short a battery lasts with the unit by waking up to ice cold blowing air.

The LOW sleeper has a 20K BTU DV off brand furnace and mounted on the floor with a large PC fan above it and another one mounted on the end wall really pushes around the heat nicely. A fully charged deep cycle will run the small plastic fans for 3-4 days no problem.

Will never put another blower style furnace in a fish house. The idea of running only on propane and if you want to run the fan(s) on a 12 volt battery is better than running a generator all the time.

NOBODY likes the guy running the generator 24/7.

I've had good results mounting a computer fan right on the bottom of the empire furnace. It blows air up at the heating element and is then forced out the front through the grates which directs the air back down. I agree I will never by a fish house heater that requires power to run.
