HeviShot
I was thinking about booking a snow goose hunt this spring with a guide in eaither ND or SD, when usually is the peak of the migration? How late does the season go? Is it even worth finding a guide here in MN? If you guys know of any reasonable outfitters please let me know thanks! carpshooterdeluxe
Your going to have trouble this late finding a quality guide that still has weekend dates open in SD. There are not a lot of guides that run in ND, but SD will be full of them this year. best time in SD is typically the last 2 weeks of march and 1st week of april, but it all depends on the weather and snowmelt. Some reputable outfitters i would reccomend checking out are:Northern Skies OutfittersLonedrake WaterfowlNeu Outdoors4 Flyways OutfittersThere are many others out there that are probably just as good; just google sd guided snow goose hunts and you'll be busy for hours reading through all the websites. HeviShot
Ha, that was just it, I googled it earlier today and was flooded with different guides, most saying the same thing. Do you know of any good guides in mn?
Andy Loos1432404924
I know Jon Neu personally. Great guy! His setups are incredible with vortex machines and a ton of decoys. He doesn't mess around. We are going with him later in March, can't wait!

I think if I started guiding in the Spring I wouldn't be sleeping in the big bed anymore. There aren't really an MN snow goose guides because we do get birds but it's just not like what comes through the Dakotas. So most guides that do it head over to the Dakotas. There are birds to be shot in Western MN if you time it right. We go with Goosehogoutdoors.com. Works hard for birds and not afraid to pick up and move. Not all guides are willing to do this because of the massive amount of decoys.
carpshooterdeluxe
There are a few guides that will set spreads on the mn side of the border under the right circumstances, but as a general rule its the dakotas that reign king.
