Just wondering if the hevi shot 13 shells will work with the invector plus turkey choke...shell box says safe for modenr steel amunition guns....choke says not for use with steel shells...are hevi 13 tungsten, bismouth, or are they steel coated with something else? Box doesn't say, and I don't want to ruin my new gun.

I have a browning gold 3 1/2 and using a Browning full strut ported choke that I think is a .640, I know this is a very tight and would like to use Hevi shot 13 #6 I think. has anyone shot this choke or have any ideas on what to use? I dont want to buy a new choke though!

Tungsten is harder than modern steel shot, a lot harder. Only chokes rated for hevishot should use hevi 13 loads. There are many of them on the market that will fit your gun that are rated for hevishot.

The winchester elite loads are softer but would still need to be shot for a steel approved choke. I kknow that the comp n choke turkey chokes are rated for the Winchester Elite loads but not Hevishot.

HS Undertaker has a HS choke. I really like the Primos Jellyhead choke and they also have a tight wad choke approved for hevishot, (my daughter uses this one in her 20 guage). Swarm, Indian Creek, rhino, all make hevishot chokes as well. Many other out there as well.
