North Carolina fishing?

Well I fished a stocked pond there once that had some nice eater rainbow trout in it.. Not exactly real fishing, but it was fun. There were plenty of bull frogs, lilypads, and other plants/cover, along with good weather, to convince me that there must be good largemouth fishing somewhere in the state.

As far as ocean fishing goes, I don't know anything about NC in particular, but probably any fishing pier on the Atlantic is a good place to toss some bait out for all kinds of fish.

I grew up in a small town near the VA/TN border, and frequently made it out to the beach and have done some fishing. Also have some friends that moved out to the pamlico sound/atlantic beach area of NC... I've been around there a bunch.

As mentioned, pond fishing there can be a blast. I've caught carp and sunnies and bass, and my buddy caught a rather nice cat out of one of the stocked ponds.

As far as ocean fishing goes... we just would find a sand bar or beach area, maybe a little tidal inlet, find some shrimp, put em on hooks and some big weights and fish the bottom. You'll get anything from seabass to flounder with that rig. We did the same kinda thing down in hilton head with success.

I never fished the breakers or anything like that... with how busy atlantic beach ended up most times i was hesitant for sure. Hilton head I watched a guy shore fishing along the breakers and brought in some interesting stuff. Nothing big by any means, but what was there was... eye opening. Apparently there are a lot of black tip sharks hangin around there. smile

If I were you I'd fish the ocean, not too many saltwater fish in MN you can fish for smile
