Help rewiring kerosene torpedo heater

Steve Foss

Question

Hey all:

This is an older unit that worked perfectly until the back panel came off and the transformer fell out and came unwired. I'm not up on this kind of wiring, and there are enough connections pulled apart (not all wires appear color coded, either) that I can't figure out how to get it back together right.

Now, this looks like the work of a few minutes for someone who knows how it goes together. It also looks like a nightmare to try to explain via a typed message, but if anyone wants to have a go at it, I'd be grateful. Or pointing me to a wiring diagram I can understand would be cool, too.

Thanks! smile

Steve I have a DESA 155,000 btu kerosene torpedo. Would you like me to open it up and take a few pics ?

Mine has a white top were the heat is generated with a black bottom were the kerosene is stored. The end that you have taken off on mine has black plastic fins.
