FIRST AID / SAFETY

What do you keep in your boat for emergencies? Here's what I've got..

1. Fire extinguisher
2. First aid kit
3. Flashlight

I'm seriously considering getting a suture kit.

I think you can get the super glue type stuff for cuts over the counter now. That would be a good addition.

I also carry a snakebite kit (works for bee stings as well).

Cell phone is a good emergency item as well.

As for the suture kit. A light wire hook with the barb pinched and some 6 or 8 pound braided line and some hard liquor for anesthetic and you're good to go. I would certainly have a doctor check your work the first couple times.

The super glue stuff (liquid bandage or something like that)works great out in the boat I've had it in my boat the last 2 years and have used it more then I'd like to admit.

I just would add a Marine band radio. I also think if you hit the great lakes at all you need to have a flare set up.
