Layouts are smilar, as are horsepower ratings. I wonder if they will continue to carry both, or if this is a transition year for them. The big differences I see are:

-Cost, with Impact being cheaper

-Hull design is IPS II for Explorer, IPS for Impact. Thickness may be different too? Didn't check that.

-Impact has ability to mount aft flip seats which is great feature

-Slight differences with beam dimensions. The 18 foot explorer has a slightly wider beam than Impact, while it's opposite for the 17 footers.

Honestly if the 17 foot impact would fit through the culvert in our lake, I would probably upgrade to the 1775 Impact Sport w/ aft seats. Great boat for the money.
