I just past the 300,000 mile mark on my '93 Dodge Dakota. Engine is getting weak, exterior still looks good. I am driving it until it is too expensive to fix like replacing the engine. Just keeping up with the routine maintenances.

Congrats on the "milestone". Pun intended. If you or anyone needs a rebuilt engine, I know of a place in Burnsville that really impressed me when I had my engine replaced with one of theirs. It came with a warranty and cost less than $1,000.00 when everyone else I consulted wanted between $1,200-$2,000.00 without a warranty. I don't work for them, just a very pleased customer!

bucketmouth64, Good for you! My 1990 Dodge D-150 just passed the 200,000 mile mark. Like you, I've just given it good routine maintenance. That good old 318CD still doesn't take a drop of oil in 3,000 miles and the suspension is still as tight as the day I drove it off the lot. Once had an old mechanic tell me"Grease is cheaper than iron. Grease it every time you change the oil!" So I did and this August I will have owned this truck for 15 years.

Got a '93 Bonneville with 233,000 on it. She doesn't burn a drop of oil!

One of these days, she'll quit and I'll be forced into buying a new car, but until that happens, it is too cheap to give her up!

This has been the best car for me yet. I haven't got $1,000 maintenance into it since I bought it in '97
