Video Capture Card for PC

My non-HD DirecTV DVR is nearly full of football games and I want to start burning them to DVDs. I understand that buying a video capture card / tuner card is the best route to go. My only problem is that I can't find good comparisons/reviews online. Does anyone have personal experience with any of the cards out on the market?

I think they are pretty hit and miss with the quality of the USB Capture systems. Hauppage seems to be the best name for capture cards. Another option which I have used is a dvd player/recorder that sits next to your TV. Run the inputs into the DVD recorder and press record and that is all there is to it. I bought mine for like $50.

Hmmm, I hadn't heard of this. Where can I find out more? What brand do you have/recommend?

I got mine at Wal-Mart. I think mine a Magnavox. Look by the DVD players.
