Cleaning Wheel House After Travel?

After traveling down a snowy/slushy/salty road with your wheel house, do you clean it when it's sitting at home? Or do you leave it on there and clean it at the end of the year?

I tried to clean my shack this weekend after getting home from the lake, but found it impossible to get into the do-it-yourself car wash. I found one place that let me run a hose out to quick knock off some of the snow/slush/salt.

What do you do to your wheel house after each use?

i'd be interested to hear what people do as well. we have a double axel grand lodge wheelhouse and whenever you drive it around roads with snow/salt/slush, both wenches for lowering the house on either side of the house are caked in slush and can make lowering the house a pain.

Do you have a pressure washer?

Hook a pressure washer thru a garden hose up to your wash tub thats next to your washing machine and turn on the warm water to help melting the ice off the house.

After you get all the ice, shlush and grit, you can spray on some wax to help resist the crud that sprays on the house and will be easier to clean the next time! Worked for me! 2c

My plumber suggested putting a hot water faucet/spigot in my garage just for this kind of thing when I built my house. Unfortunately I didn't listen to him b/c I think it would have come in handy. frown

That is a good idea. I might have to do that at my place.
