I'm ready for the Walleye Opener

I am just about pumped for the opener. Not much work getting done this afternoon as I complete my checklist for the weekend. I've been fishing open water for two months, but there is something about the Minnesota Fishing Opener that has that holiday feeling. Pulling out at 12 noon Friday and heading north to Kabby. I've organized the tackle, bought some new jigs, put new line on the reels, tuned up the motor, packed the bearings, cleaned and stocked up the camper, bought a new map, filled he gas tanks, washed and waxed the boat, checked out the electronics, and packed my gear.

I'll be back on Wednesday.

Hey Animal,
You sure picked beautiful place to go for the opener. You should do well up there if it's as good as it can be.

I have had my rods and tackle ready for weeks now, opening day is better than christmas and my birthday put together.

I have clients over the weekend however I'll be going out at midnight with the family to catch some fresh walleyes for breakfast.

Nothing like scambled eggs and walleye for opening day breakfast. I'm fishing with my son and his entire family, my daughter, my wife and my 2 brothers.

After breakfast it's off to work with 2 guys that have been fishing the opener with me for many years. All in all, not a bad way to spend the weekend.

Have a fun, safe opening day all and I hope you all remember to put some back.
