Vista Wireless Network

Strange problem here. I recently did a factory restore on my Compaq Laptop. At that point I had zero issues connecting to my wireless network that is using a Cisco router.

After the restore, the adapter connects to the network immediately, but then takes about 5 minutes to connect to the internet. It says, "Identifying".

Not a huge issue except every time that I close the lid, it goes to sleep and turns the adapter off and I have to go through the whole waiting process again.

Any ideas on this one?

That did the trick thanks!

Here's an interesting side note. I thought my battery was toast and hadn't used battery power in months. It would only last minutes when unplugged and then shutdown. After the restore, the battery is like new! smile
