New lures to try?

So my birthday comes not long after the winter holidays. It has its advantages and disadvantages, but one of the bigger disadvantages is that I have a hard time finding suggestions for the family of what I'd like! They've already gotten me stuff for a week ago and I've already been asked for a list of birthday stuff.. lol. In general I ask for fishing stuff, but I've started to run out of ideas.

I bet someone's reading this and wishing they had the same problem :P

Well I figured I'd come here and ask you guys if there's any fishing lures that I may not have in my tackle box that I should give a shot. Most of my fishing is pike and bass fishing, but I have some things that cross into the walleye or musky territory as well.

Is there anything that I may not have heard of that I should give shot? Is there anything that looks gimmicky and people might have passed over, but ended up working real well for you?

I'm thinking I might ask for at least a spro jointed swimbait, I've not had much luck with the couple of jointed swimbaits I have but I sure do enjoy throwing them and watching them wag.

Thanks for suggestions guys.

I am unde rthe impression that giant swim baits don't work in our northern waters, could be wrong though? I am on a creature bait kick as of late, Chigger Craws, Strike King Rage Tail products, and I really like some of teh stuff Lake Fork is making!

I rediscovered a couple of forgotten baits this summer. My wishlist would be (1) enough tailspinners to not be afraid of breaking of a few in the river and (2) some spoonplugs.

They don't get used all that much anymore, but they sure work.

If you are into Pike, especially Big Pike. It's my opinion that you can never have enough spinnerbaits, oh and by the way, they work great for both species of Bass as well. Topwaters are also a bait that most people never have enough of and they work great on both of your prefered species. JMHO.
