Clam 5600 Parts?

I bought a used Clam 5600 before the ice season, and didn't check to make sure the frame was in working condition until we took it out last weeked. Well, the guy set it up in his garage while we watched him, but this is my first ice house so I didn't bother to think about the poles. The cloth on the house is still in great condition. The pole are still in good condition, the only problem is the little pin that sticks out and locks the poles in place is messed up. It doesn't stop in the hole because its broken. So we were sitting in a house that would cave in from the top because the poles kept sliding down. How do I fix this problem? If it is junk, than I might get rid of it and get a Fishtrap instead (which I was gonna do in the first place). I was thinking about drilling a hole and using screws and whing nuts to secure it in place. It just seems like so much hassel. Any ideas?

Is that pop out broke or maybe just catching on the inside of the pole? I have a 5600 and I thought the pop out was broke but it was actually that it was just out of alignment. I took the pole apart and was able to reach in the pipe with a screw drive and realign the pop out and then it worked fine. You can also check on clam's site and contact them about a replacement part. I have used them before and they were very helpful for me.

If you can not fix the pop pin, you can take one out of a landing net and insert it into the pole.

You can order the pop pins from Clam too, get spares if you do.

While it's apart, de-burr the conduit ends inside and out, so they slide better. Odds are, the previous owner didn't. It will help greatly setting up alone if they slide properly and do not snag up.
