FYI it's called tethering, but I can't help you with the iPhone.

No experience with it, but look up "jailbreak" for iPhone. It supposedly allows you to use your iPhone for tethering.

I still loved my windows phone for this reason! you could tether wireless! My phone would turn into an Ad Hoc Connection and I could run multiple devices off of it!

Could even use it as an access point for better wireless signal. Connect my phone to my wireless put it someplace in the house and boom extended wireless connection!

There are three ways to accomplish this that I know of. You can do it through AT&T, and pay a fee for it. You can also jailbreak your phone, which I have not tried, but I think it can be a bit of a pain sometimes. There also used to be a site for the earlier iPhones that would install a protocol into your phone that would allow you to do it without jailbreaking. I followed the last method with my 3G, and it worked pretty well, but the phone seemed to freeze more often and act a it erratically. With my iPhone4, I activated it through AT&T which was painless and simple, albeit with the small added charge. If you have an iPhone, go to your network settings, and there will be an option for activating tethering. If you need information on the other methods, let me know. Good luck!
