auger problem

Took my SM mag 2000 with a 10" chipper on it out the lake for the first run of the season. It started up on a couple pulls and ran well - 3 years of dedicated service, couldn't be happier.

I did notice that it seemed like there as some play between the bit and powerhead. If you hold the bit steady you can rock the powerhead back and forth just a little bit. The screw looked tight, it was recessed in the hole and came out the other side.

Is that play between the parts normal? Seemed to drill just fine, other than I am finally getting to the point that the chipper blade needs sharpening.

Assuming the motor's running well, check your blade pitch/angle and make sure the blades are still tight. Then check your collar bolt.

I would replace/sharpen the blade as soon as you can (If it needs it), could save you some wear on the bit in the long run.
