Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on a new line of jig heads that Galyan's is selling. It's their GPS series lead head jigs. There is a major problem in the design of the hook shank on these jigs. The barb is sliced out of the hook shank leaving a weak spot underneath it. I had a number of them break off in the vice while I was tying some jigs for the spring trout season. I also had them break off while fishing, particularly when they get snagged. The hook points also bend up very easy. I haven't lost a fish yet, but have only fished for stream trout. A bruiser river bronzeback might be different story.
