devils lake ice fishing

I was at devils lake this weekend. Checked the ice on 6 mile bay north of highway 19. I found 4 to 6 inches. I never went farther than 75 yards from shore. I ended up fishing a point on sat night. Picked up 4 eyes with one 17 in keeper. The ice isnt safe but it is close on the back bays.

Wow, can't believe with all the wind and snow that there's that much ice. Good to hear!

when i left on suday most of the snow blew off. I am sure it will be stacked up somewhere. nice thing about the north end of 6 mile it is like its own little lake

Any word on the ice for this weekend?

sounds like people are fishing the bays, walking out and atv. this time of year you better be drill lots of holes checking ice thickness while you go.
