I shoot a .280 rem with similar ballistics. I found the 154 hor sst and 150 rem core-lokt to fail to exit most of the time, even on clean body cavity shots at closer range. I've been experimenting with bullets for awhile and have settled on 2 that suit my needs. I now shoot the Speer 160 mag tip in the woods and still use the 154 SST in open country. The speer is not very sleek or streamlined but that's not a big handicap inside of 200 yards. It has always penetrated well and caused good but not excessive damage. I also like Hornady interlocks, but due to the short magazine in my K98 action, the 162 grain BTSP isn't an option. I will probably try the 154 SP this year in that rifle as I can't find the 160 mag tip anymore.
