Green_Castle
Has anyone put a 10" auger on the Strikemaster lectric lazer and if so how does it work?
0 ATW
FWIW, I used a 10" StrikeMaster chipper auger on an old used (i.e. >20yo, history unknown) "Electra" for two seasons before the gearcase failed. Using a 10" on an Electra is probably marginal, since StrikeMaster isn't packaging anything larger than 8" with the Electra. I don't know if that is due to reliability or battery life issues. While 10" is larger than what StrikeMaster warrantees, it should work OK if you baby it and go slow. I'm hoping that the Electra has the same gearcase as their gas models, but I didn't ask. I plan to try my 10" chipper on my new Electra this year, since I only need to drill up to 6 holes on each charge. I like the larger 10" holes in my permanent so I don’t have to redrill after 3-4 days when they freeze/neck down.
0 Ed Carlson
The 10" is too much stress on the EL-1200, it will tear it up. That is why they do not offer it in it as a package and will not warranty one that is run on a 10". In either a chipper or shaver, 10" is ill advised. 0 Green_Castle
Thanks for the info I thought a 10" auger on my electra lazer 1200 would be big. So i bought a Jiffy Pro 4 in a 10" and cant wait to use it.
